Aiming headlights

I can't aim my headlights up or down b/c of the stupid little pin in the middle of that Torx screw. And, of course, the local hardware stores only have the Torx bit with the hole in it for sale by the full set. I don't want to spend an extra $30 to aim my headlights. Any solution? I'm about to just Dremel that pin right off, although I'll probably mess up the screw quite a bit in the process.

the up/down adjustment screw/nut is on the outer side of headlight assembly. should be covered by a black plastic cone [cone is not quite the right word] don't know what the torx with the pin adjusts. hopefully someone does and will post.

Yeah, just take the headlight out and turn that black cone to adjust the headlights. That's what I do shrug

This may help - the aiming bolts are also indicated. Park about 15' away from a flat surface, on a flat surface and adjust the beams up. Careful not to go too far or you'll be lighting up overhead highway signs.

Are you guys talking about a Gen 1/2 or a Gen 3? One of the Torx screws moves the lights L-R, so I figured the other one moves them U-D. SHOWHAT9, those bolts don't do anything either. They are all there to hold the headlight assembly in, not adjust it. I'm talking about the little Torx screw on the back of the bubble level. I asked about this a while back and someone told me that was the right screw, but they put that safety pin in there so you couldn't adjust the beams up and blind people. In that picture, I see another bolt which also has a Torx setting on it, all the way on the right side. Is that the one? Was I given bad info the last time I asked about this?

The point was to illustrate where on the GNEIII the adjuster is which is inbetween the last two arrows in the illustration with the black cover on it. Might be hard to see in the pix.

Problem solved. thumb It was the outer bolt with the combo Torx/hex head. The part that confused me was that the INNER bolt had the black rubber boot on it, and that one did nothing for me.

That inner bolt is your Left/right beam adjustment.... Usually they are pretty close and don't need much adjustment. If you were looking for up/down movement while you turned that bolt you probably didn't see that the beam was moving left/right.

Well, mine are both broken then, b/c the headlight doesn't move one bit no matter how much I turn that screw. I even put the bit on my power drill and spun it a lot in each direction--still nothing. For the L-R adjustment, I had to use the tiny Torx screw right next to the bubble level.
