ok heres the story
im pulling into the car wash (which is on a slight up hill slope) and i cant get the stupid thing to pull forward(im in 1st). when i hit the brakes they seem a bit stiff and they wont go down as far as usual, i **** the car like 10 times. it keeps grinding and it just wont go. i eventually get it in.

but later it seems like it has no power. it sounds fine though. i pull over. turn the car off. wait a few minutes. and start it up and go and its fine. this has happened before.

what are your guys thoughts... questions.
i hope its my poor ability to drive a clutch
its a 92 mtx fyi

the problem is that you're supposed to push the gas pedal when letting off the clutch, not the brake pedal. :laugh_ti:

You probably roasted the clutch trying to slip it into first so many times, which explains the lack of power - the clutch is just slip-slidin' away. Hopefully it will return to normal when it cools down. Or, you might need a new clutch.

Try practicing on a friend's MTX honda. They are dead easy to practice driving a stick on, and they don't produce enough power to truly roast a clutch.

Check to make sure your rear brakes aren't dragging. I'm guessing you waited in line holding the brakes?

I would bet $5 your rear brake lines have turned into a one way valve.

well the easiest way would be to use a non-contact IR thermometer, about $40 at your local sears. drive around without using any brakes (or as little as possible) and the get out and check temps. If the rear rotors are way hotter than the front ones, you have draggy brakes.
