Alright everyone, this might be a loaded question, but what aftermarket deck fits best with the GenII SHO? I did check with a local custom stereo shop and 'he' said that if I remove the orginal deck the "remote volume, seek" controls will become useless.? Is this really true? Tell me it ain't so! As silly as it sounds, i really like the easy reach of these options on the dash... but I could live without them for better sound quality and a c/d w/changer?

Let the debate begin.

Yes it is true. Though you should get a head unit with a remote and it will be better. Though some one had found a unit that allows you to use those buttons still but it cost about as much as a remote. I am working on a mod that I should have in a couple of weeks that will allow the buttons to be used as switches for other things. As for a good head unit go with Kenwood or JVC. I have had both and both have been good. I have last years model of Kenwood in and it works great. The quality is good and have a good desgin and features.

Rickie Frat sells JVC and a few other brands

Check him out out www.fratsperformance.com

He has lost his internet connection (May have lost his Web space too) But he will be back shortly.

I have one of his JVC ElKameleon decks, and I love it..
And it comes with a wireless remote. Now I dont have to move my arm from the armrest to even reach the buttons

Let me know SHOTIME. Although, I plan on spending some on the performance stuff first, I'm detailing a "wish" list for future stuff. Let me know though, if the price is right I'll jump on it.

Absolutely check out Rickie. He's one guy who's honest and straight up...you won't get ripped off with him.

I have a Pioneer Deh-P7200 with organic display and a remote control. It's awesome! I wouldn't trade it for the world. It has great sound, easy to use and has a great look to it. Maybe not the most expensive or most powerful head unit, but it works fine with my system.

. There is alot that you can do when it comes to the sound system of a SHO. You can go from mild to wild. It all depends on what you wish to spend.

Pioneers are awesome....the only thing that I don't like is that damn *beep beep beep* when you turn the car off and keep the face plate on.

I had to turn on my car at Freds house one day, and i shut it off with the door open, and all of a sudden i hear "must be a Pioneer" coming from the peanut gallery that is always present...its a nice way of broadcasting what type of HU you have

You can turn the beeping off. While the key is turned forward but the head unit is off press the function key and hold it down until the menu comes up. Then keep pressing the function key til you see the warning alert and press either the left or right direction key to turn it off or on. It's that easy.

Hey..no problem Rickie. I calls 'em like I sees 'em. Besides, you've been nothing BUT helpful to me in the past.

Speaking of which, I have a wish list for my car. I'm gonna gather the info as to what I want and email it to ya. Let me know what you can do. In the mean time, I'll be visiting your web site.
