aftermarket gauge backlight hookup

where did you guys tap in for the backlight for your aftermarket gauges? i'm installing an oil psi gauge and want the backlight to work when the headlights/interier lights are on.

Light blue/Red wire. Behind the headlamp switch or any other convenient place you find it.

If you have an aftermarket head unit, then you have a "dimmer" wire coming from the wiring harness adapter.

I chose to use that one. Orange wire, if I remember right. Just use a voltmeter, that makes it very simple.

Find a wire that varies in voltage when you rotate the dimmer dial thumb
