Hi all.
I am getting ready to order a set of TriFlow cams for my '94 MTX, but am up in the air about getting adjustable cam sprockets. My question is "How important are these with aftermarket cams?". I am aware that they allow you to dial in the cam timing perfectly and that there would be gains to having them, but how much difference are we talking? On past cams, such as ShoShop, I understand there were some quality issues....but I have heard that Shonuts are top quality (ground by Colt Cams). Opinions?

i know with the +40s on an n/a car you would benefit because you could dial out some of the overlap, which i believe is around 25 degrees. the set of lobes on the triflows for the shoret runners is the same. i am not sure how taking some of the overlap on the long runner side would affext daily driving. most of all, i think it's just a big gray area since not so many people have tri-flows.

I think the overlap is desired on an NA car. I have been looking at getting some gears to dial out some overlap on boost while retaining the extra lift. The problem is that adjusting overlap isn't a quick process considering the intake and valve covers have to come off everytime you want to make a change.
