Hi Guys,

I just purchased down pipes for my 2015 SHO PP.

Livernois Thunderstorm Down Pipe from CARID.

Any advice on the install or the product?
What type of performance upgrade I should feel?

Not sure if I'm going to do it myself or get a pro, any body know what it might cost?
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

It’s not fun but not a terribly hard job. You need the turbo gaskets and downpipe to cat back ****** gaskets if you didn’t get new ones, lots of 1/2” extensions and a universal, can of pb blaster. I’d recommend new O2’s depending on mileage. I feel, if you’re in there you might as well put in some freshies.

Just like zpak said. If you have air tools they help immensely. Be careful not to pull the studs out of the turbo ******. Overall not to hard, its just exhaust work so it just sucks overall. In my case I had an O2 sensor pretty much welded onto the bung. Had to chisel it in half to get a socket onto it.

As far as performance i couldnt give you numbers but more low end grunt and top end power, according to my butt dyno.

I may get someone to do it. I don’t have access to air tools at my house and exhaust work is the worst

Do you recall the nut size for replacement? Mine aren't looking so great.

Also by any possible misshap you can get extra studs and nuts from Ford pretty easily. Studs are 7mm to put in the like said above 15mm bolts. An impact makes the job easier with and assortment of wobble sockets but you will most likely need wrench on a couple. Be careful to not bust any knuckles

I have a battery powered impact that is a torque monster but bulky. Have you re-used the gaskets? I've heard both yes and no, obviously good reassurance if you do but my wrap just arrived and wana slap these bad boys on.

I reused my gaskets. Not advisable but can be done. Soak as many of the nuts as possible with pb blaster the night before you do it.

If any of the studs do come out with the bolt frozen to it, make sure you break it loose before reinstalling. I made the mistake of just screwing the stud back in with bolt still stuck to it and ended up with a small exhaust leak and had to pull it back out to fix.

Also, if you ever wanted to drill and tap your PTU the time to do it is when the downpipes are off.

Well...doing a good job of screwing up the O2 sensors...this socket seems like it's made of tin.
I tried heat and still nada
