Does anyone remember the days when gas tanks had a drain plug?
I have a 56 Crown Victoria, and there is a pipe plug at the corner of the gas tank in a thickened section of the tank.
Would have been handy in this case. Just another handy thing that has disappeared.
On another note, you can buy a siphon apparatus with an in-line hand squeeze ball, they are made of plastic and have a flex suction line, and usually cost about $5.00. Is there something in the neck configuration that prevents the use of these things?

There's an anti-siphon mechanism if it's like any gas tank sold in the past 20 years.

If you are talking about the small, spring loaded flap that you push out of the way with the nozzle of the gas pump, I think that can be defeated.

The spring loaded flap is called a fuel inlet restriction valve.
It needs to be present for a PA state inspection on newer cars.

There are several series of baffles down in the neck of today's vehicles, built since the late 80's-early 90's, to prevent a tube passing easily down the neck. This came about because of so many earlier cars having their gas stolen after the last oil embargo.

not all stations here have that and I Don't know about that one, but the one I seen about 3 months ago was more. Can't remember how much, but I think it was atleast 20 cents or more.

Any Ford newer than 2010 IIRC has a capless fuel filler that has more than just a flap and baffles. It comes with a special funnel next to the spare tire that can open it in case you run out of fuel, but the seal is held by a VERY strong spring that can't be easily defeated.
One old school way to drain it is find the incoming fuel line under the hood, before it goes into the direct injection pump, disconnect it, find a container to drain it in and keep cycling the key on and off to cycle the fuel pump, but I just realized you probably have push button start and can't do that.
Speedy Fuel (not a Speedway) on Southfield Fwy, just after the fwy part ends and you enter Allen Park. It is literally the first thing on the right, before the first traffic light. It was $4.09/gal yesterday ($0.50 more than E10 91 premium). I filled up my SHO there to get it ready for winter hibernation. http://pure-gas.org/station?station_id=9748. Apparently it used to be a Marathon, as that's what it is in Google Streetview FYI.

I was thinking the same thing about the capless system, but as you stated, that is pretty new.
On the new SHO system, the flex hose that lead to the tank (there is at least one) from your gas cap entry location, could be uncoupled, and then you could use the syphon to lower the tank fuel level. But that is likely a big pain as well.

there is a station i seen that sells this fuel at southfeild fwy and 94 fwy.. just south of 94 on southfeild.. i dont know if they sell it all year.. i didnt even know what it was till i was reading this thread

I'm surprised no one has messed with E85 on their tunes yet. It did wonders for my mazdaspeed3. I was going to say that the fuel trims would be off that would trip you cel but someone already stated that. Hopefully your car is all good now!
