AC/heater repair

I debating whether to spend the money to repair the AC and heater in my 91 SHO with 115K miles or buy a new car. Both the evaporator and heater core leak so the dash will have to come out. The EATC buttons are toast. I figure it will cost somewhere around $1500 or more to have it done, assuming the replacement parts are available. What AC and heater components are still available?

91 with 85k? Keep it. You can tackle it yourself and save a ton of money. On rock auto I can find just about every a/c and heating component for a SHO.

115K - Haven't updated the sig. I'm not 100% confident in Rock Auto's look ups for SHO parts. A lot of non-Sho parts get included. I wish I had time to do it myself, but I have several other projects as well.

seriously, its an afternoon project for you and a buddy - maybe most of Saturday if you have never done it before.

Right now I can't even get it in the garage to work on it. I have a 66 Fairlane in the garage with no drive train in the midst of replacing the rusted out cowl vents and floor boards.:banghd: First on my to-do list is to finish the had swap on my 67 Olds wagon out in the driveway. Paying someone to fix the AC is my only option right now unless I want to wait until Fall.
