This may seem like a weird question but here is the scenario. . .
I was driving home from the bank yesterday when I heard a noise, couldn't really tell whether it was the SHO or some car near me anyway. I look out my rear view mirror and see something (resembling a soda can) in the middle of the road spraying up a white puff of smoke. So I thought some kid had thrown something into teh road or something since the carnival is going on only blocks away. . .

Two hours later I hop in the car to head over to my girl's house and the AC is blowing only deathly hot air !!! Could something have fallen out of the car causing the AC system to go? The AC has been working PERFECTLY (ICE COLD) since I got it . . . am I paranoid or could these two events be linked?

Pop the hood and look around. By the compressor in front of the fan, there is a small valve that looks like a can attached to the a/c line. Is it still there? Check on the lower drv. side for the evaporator, a bigger looking can. Weird if something just blew off. shrug

A battery acid leak could have corroded the A/C lines to the receiver/dryer assembly, but it surely would have leaked long before falling off. How long did you drive after you saw the sight in the rear view mirror? The air would have been immediately hot if the receiver/dryer had fallen off. It wouldn't have waited until you started the car the next time. Is the receiver still there?
