My fuse for the AC (fuse 17), for some reason pops when going over a bump. The BDA was recently replaced and the AC worked fine for a few months, and now it's doing this again.

The AC works fine when the fuse is in, just going over bumps and firm/hard shifts cause it to pop.

Any ideas of what to look for?

I would say you have a intermittant dead short. Somewhere in the wiring for the a/c it is grounding on the chassis. I was working w/an Expedition that was doing the same thing a couple of years ago. We had it in multiple times but were not able to duplicate the problem. The tech working removed the entire interior the 3rd time in to trace down the short. Ended up being a small wire fr the rear blower motor in the right rear wheel area. In the end the customer's extended warranty stated, "we will pay you 1 hour for diag and 1 hour for the repair and no more!" I told them, "that's fine I will just charge the customer the additional 8 hours of labor" and hung up in them. Customer went nuts!!! I told him to call his extended warranty. Next thing I know the extended warranty was calling me and paid for the whole bill. GOD I HATE AFTEMARKET EXTENDED WARRANTIES!!!

well it wont fix the problem...

and a larger fuse means more amps... and more amps means, that WHEN it grounds out, there is just that much more chance of it catching the wire on fire.

What would be the consequences of using a slightly larger fuse?

You know Lucas took this logic when they were hired to design the wiring (Lucas, the inventor of the short circuit, the prince of darkness, the inventor of the 1st intermittant wipers, etc) system for the new Bettle. Seems they had a wire that was getting very hot. Lucas's solution, "use a heavier guage wire!"

Anyway, to answer your question, possible wiring harness damage.

Why do Brits drink warm beer? Because their refrigerators were built by Lucas.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of using a larger fuse and rather solve the problem, it was a dumb idea my dad gave me. (Yes really :p)
