I have a 93 ATX SHO.:hpoop:
Is anyone having problems with AC compressor or AC clutch?:nutty:
Every year I have to have new clutch.
First year it was replaced in 2004, lasted about 11 months and broke, 2nd one lasted about a year, & it broke again last year at the end of the summer so I didn't replace it because it was cool outside. Last month I bought new ac clutch again, bought used AC compressor to see if it would make any difference, well car sat for 10 days because I was on vacation, came back and clutch is broke again. I'll have it fixed tomorrow again..

:thankyou:

What part of it is breaking?

It's been my experience that, when properly installed, the clutch lasts for many years.

Well mechanic found out today why I don't have AC.
Evaporator has a leak so I'll just leave it as it is and probably get rid of the car SOON...

Sorry to hear that. Evaporator requires a dash-pull.

If you should change you mind and decide to get the evaporator replaced, you will want to change the evaporator, the heater core, and the Blend Door Actuator. Each require the dash be pulled, which is something you only want to do once.

If it's the same mechanic that misdiagnosed it the last three times, I'd get a different opinion from someone else....

The evaporator cores in these cars aren't known for leaking issues. Possible, just not very common.

Heater core , blend door come with the evaporator,..
I will not replace it. My employee price through ford on the part is $500.
I wouldn't mind replacing it but this car has been nothing but trouble for 9 years. If I would replace that something else will go bad for sure.:nut:

But I think I have one of the SHO's ford ever made. Things I really don't think should go bad I have had them replaced. Only thing that is stock in the car is the engine. Everything else has been replaced at least twice.
