Is the AC system on a 3.2 the same as the 3.0? I'm having some AC issues on my 94 MTX. (Leaking hoses and compressor issues I think) I have a 94 ATX that I'm gonna be parting, and I was thinking about pulling the AC lines and other parts to use to possibly fix my AC system. for the time being I'm just gonna fill the system back up to where it is supposed to be, but I think that I need a more perm. fix, and with summer coming I want to do it soon, but have to do it for as cheaply as possible.

netviper,

The lines should be identicle, as should the condenser, evaparator core, manifolds (connected to the compressor with short metal lines), and the accumulator/dryer (filter/dryer). I think all this stuff is the same for the SHO and the SLO (and Sable for that matter) The compressor is the different part, because it is made for high RPMS.

The compressor should also be a Nippondenso 10P15F, if I remember right. If you have any doubts, check the part numbers for the replacement parts for both cars via fordpartsonline, etc. rangerj

The compressors are both the same. What is different is the hoses coming out of the compressor and how they route to avoid hitting the motor mounts. You can use the ATX compressor unbolt the hoses, and swap the MTX hoses, which will clear the mounts and line up with the rest of the system. There are only 2 bolts attaching the hoses to the compressors. The pulleys will line up.

damn looks like I'll have to buy some new hoses. cause the ones down by the bottom of the radiator, on the passenger side are leaking this yellow/green crap and my AC seems limp at best. Also as the compressor cycles it makes the car drop to 500 or so RPM's. I thought I might be able to use the lines off my 94 ATX parts car. Perhaps I will save the compressor from it just incase there is something wrong with mine. Anyone out there ever recharged thier own AC and can give me some pointers?
