Hey, Today I installed a different PCM. After it ran for a little bit I backed up and the ABS light came on. I hit the brake and the RPMs raised a little bit then idled back normally. I shut the car off and then tried to start it again and nothing. The battery is drained. So I put the old PCM back in and still nothing, no light nothing. So I jumped the car. And it started right back up. I unhooked the jumper cables and car idled fine for a couple minutes, then again the ABS light came on. RPMs jumped again, and again battery is drained. Also when I tap the break the climate control info shuts off then turn back on. Would a bad battery cause this? alternator?

bad battery or alternator.

Disconnect the battery and Measure it's voltage.
Reconnect battery and measure voltage.
Start car and measure voltage.

The first 2 should be almost the same (more than 12 volts). The last one should be slightly higher...~14.25 volts max.

also I wouldnt think it would be the alternator. I pulled the negative terminal off while running, and the car did not die..correct me if I'm wrong but wouldnt the car die if the alternator was bad? car is running right now, the ABS light was on for a second right when I jumped the car, but shut off. also the air bag light was on, but also shut off.

which ecu did you put in? d4u1, x2j, ? I can't remember if you have auto or stick - but it is the correct ecu for your car right? and did you make sure that the harness was fully connected and tight? Why did you change the ecu? Is the one you replaced it with a known good one?

I installed the L0S PCM..I have a 91 SHO now..my screen name confuses people..I swapped the ECU because the old one I had installed was chipped and I sold the PCM. so I installed a new one..and yes it was a known good one. The ABS light hasnt come on since I posted the problem of course. I will keep you posted.

All the systems on the car act funny when the battery is drained and they are not getting enough voltage. When I had a bad alternator, the car run OK until the battery got weak. Then I got a check engine light, ABS warning light and the AC display went all crazy. RPM gauge was erratic and the car would barely keep from stalling at a traffic light (had to keep my foot on the gas..)

It sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere, your battery is dead or your alternator is going south.
