My abs light has been on for some time now and i was wondering if anyone knows what might be bad. I tried putting a different ABS control unit in and the light still is on. It seems to go on whenever i geet about 20 or so. Do bad wheel sensors make the light go on? I can assure you this is not because of my battery. I have a full charge. Any suggestions?

prolly a bad WSS , wheel speed sensor , thats used for abs.

takes a certain speed before he lights up the thing. Theres a way to pick up the ABS codes in the forums , and places to diagnose em.

What is does? nothing , you dont have ABS , just regular brakes.

My diagonostic connector for the ABS system on my '90 is right behind the MS and it's red, so it the protective cover. Were just the G I's red? IIRC, I thought they are blk on the G II's.

ok i pulled some codes and this is what i got. 34,35,38,37,44,61,63,78. As I recall, this light came on right after I took the radar out to replace the AC Condsenser. I dont know if there is anything in the abs around that area that I could have messed up. I looked, and couldnt find any unplugged connectors. My abs has been off for a while, any help would be greatly apperciated! It's usually always on.... though i think a couple of times it didnt come on.

Ok, according to the list 34, 38, 44, 78 all say left rear SS, 35 is left front SS, 37 is right rear SS, 61 is FLS circuit, and 63 is pump motor speed sensor. I have no idea why it has several different codes for the same thing. Mine was the same way. But most of the time the SS's are more that likely dirty. But, I've heard that it is almost impossible to get the off to clean them w/out breaking them.:cuss: This is besides the point, but I've also heard the ABS system on these cars was not the greatest to begin with. Personally, I like the feel of conventional (locking) brakes. You could just do what someone did to my car way before I got it: take the bulb out, LOL.:naughty:

So does anyone know what could be wrong? I read somewhere that a ground could be bad? Whats near the radiator that could go bad. I had to unplug some stuff around there. after i put everything bad together the light came on. i think it has something to do with that?

The ABS "brain" is to the right of the radiator, between the radiator and the air filter housing box.

The CCRM is a smaller box that lays flat underneath the plastic cover on top of the radiator. The ABS "brain" is larger and and stands upright next to the radiator.

Your welcome. LOL, I have no idea how to disconnect it but like I said in an earlier post to this original thread, someone pulled the ANTILOCK bulb out on my car, but it's a PITA to get the dash out.

ihmmm... are we thinking about the same thing??? Are you talking about the ABS main control unit the thing kinda underneath the air box and to the leftt? The thing with about 24 or so pins in it? If so I replaced that and my problem still occurs. i think im going to clean the sensors and make sure all the plugs are cleaned. i really dont know what else to do. Im not taking my car in to have someone look at it, so i guess ill do the best i can.
