I have a '92 SHO and when I am coming to a stop, the brakes are fine, then after a couple seconds, the ABS is coming on. The pedal is vibrating like crazy and the pavement is totally dry. It stops if you let off and hit the pedal again. It also seems to pull to one side when this happens, leading me to think it's only one side.

Could air in the lines cause this, or could it be electrical?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

is it vibrating or pulsing?? abs pulses and you feel resistance in the excact opposite direction from which you push with your foot. if it is vibrating it could be a warped rotor, not uncommon on shos or any heavy car. it does not have to be driven aggressively, sometimes long repeated stopping will make that happen. one way to check if it is your abs, pull the fuse go somewhere there is NO OTHER CARS, people, animals, etc... and attempt to lock up the brakes. just a thought, but be extremely careful if you choose that root, just a disclamer from on my end :) rotors are cheap, around $30ish/ea from autozone/napa/pepboys

It's definitely the ABS, I can feel it and I hear the ABS making noise from the engine. The brakes are all new, including rotors.

That article describes exactly what I've been experiencing. It is losing it's stopping power when it kicks on. I can understand why. I also looked at it and it's very dirty. Maybe some dirt in the grooves could cause it.

I'll keep looking at it. Thanks for the info!!
