about gaskets

im just wondering and if anyone has done it,

if i took my intake gasket and traced them on gasket paper and cut em out would this work, and also any of my other gaskets

Sure, it can work.

For intakes gaskets, I usually just clean them thoroughly, then spray them with some flat black spray paint.

The gasket is bad only if the black surface has chipped or peeled and the shiny surface underneath is visible.

The spray paint usually makes a good repair.

If you're replacing a paper gasket with another paper gasket, it will work fine. It will work on the intake-to-head too, but then it could be a pain to remove the intake and clean it up everytime.

My throttle body gasket was made from a manila folder. I have used manila folders for paper gaskets for many years.
