One day after having my tranny fluid power plurged flushed, the shifting in the ATX is all wacked out at times.

At first, I'm like wow, the shifting is much better now after the flush, then all of a sudden, I'm getting stuck in 4th gear. RPM may be around 3000 and the speedo around 80mph. I guess it's getting stuck in 4th because all the car will do from this point is accelerate smoothly even under heavy acceleration. It accelerates good but the gear doesn't shift. And the rpm won't go pass 4000.

So, when this happened the first time, for whatever reason I decided to reset the idle. Took it on the highway, and the shifting was again better than ever before the flush. Then after another hour of driving, I'm getting stuck in 4th gear.

I'm thinking that it could be a bad motor mount which I do have a very bad motor mount? Or maybe the TPS? But I'm thinking how could these be the problem one day after a flush. As I slow down to a stop the car bucks from the atx trans shifting down. The easiest explanation will be to get the tranny rebuilt, but I want to find out why is this happening a day after a fluid flush? Also, different is that I hear this whistle noise coming through the top of the engine as I accelerate. And this too I don't think was there before the tranny flush.

I bet when they flushed it some particles and other bits of crap got forced into the valve body. They may work their way back out, they may not. This is the main reason I don't recommend power flushing a tranny.

power flushing is NOT bad done in regular intervals. However if you already have a problem, never have flushed it, if the fluid is black, any of those things yes it may be worse to flush it. On the flip side how do you get all the fluid out of the convertor? just drain and refill doesnt get it. and if you cylce through the lines it is the same as power flushing.

Took the SHO back to Aamco. They looked it over but told me that they wouldn't be able to adequately diagnose the problem until I took care of the engine light on, which has been on for some time, throwing egr codes. I replaced the egr valve and was able to pass emission, but a month later the engine light came back on with the same codes. I didn't even want to mess with the egr again until the next emission test.
