The A/C doesn't work very well in my '92, blows a little cold, but nowhere near what it should if functional. I took it to a local refrigeration shop to have the Freon checked, and it has 100 lbs. of pressure in the system. So, that isn't the issue.

Any ideas of where to look next? Any help appreciated!

I suppose that was 100 psi static pressure. However, without knowing the ambient and under-hood conditions, that may or may not have been an appropriate assessment of the reading.

What were the low and high side readings when the compressor was running?

What was the ambient?

Steve

Is the condenser clean?

Does the fan work?

I didn't ask the refrig. guy about high and low readings.

The ambient was about 55 deg. The A/C does not work, however, when it's much warmer outside, either.

How does one measure or assess under hood conditions? It wasn't any warmer than usual running conditions on a 55 deg. day. The car doesn't run hot in any way.

The fan does work. I will check to see if the fan starts when the A/C is on (MAX A/C). I'm assuming that the fan is supposed to come on whenever the A/C is on, yes?

I'll also check the condensor.

Thanks so far...
