The a/c has never worked since I have bought the car a couple of months ago.

Where should I start?

The a/c blows hot when you set it to be hot, but it blows the same temp. air as whatever is outside.

:stupid:

gonna have to get a set of manifold gauges, and a vacuum to see if there are any leaks in the system though.

just ran into this on the green 94 SLO i bought my wife. everything worked but blew hot. the compressor and hard lines (high pressure side) appeared new, so i called a buddy with a manifold gauge and a vacuum pump and bought some R134a. the system held vacuum, and then held 3 cans of the stuff without losing pressure for about 30min. its been 2 weeks and everything is working great.

I'd start by simply MEASURING the system's static pressure. If it's good, there's no need to evac & recharge as a beginning step.

Just look for a static pressure in PSI that is 10-20 % (or so) higher than the ambient under-hood temp in degrees F. That will get you in the general ballpark.

yep i would check to see what the pressure is in your lines the low pressure should be at the fire wall under a plastic cover and if your fully charged i would do the self diagnostic test a common problem is the blend door.

guess i should have elaborated. we measured for pressure and it was @ none. so then we put vacuum on it and filled the system and everything.

in my defense i had just got off a 12 hour shift.
