A/C field coil connector

So i tried troubleshooting my A/C, I've got a replacement clutch assembly, hub, shims, field coil ready to be slapped in -- but I'm afraid I might have 2 issues at hand. Try as I might, I could not get any voltage thru the field coil connector. The condesner was jumped. I'm wondering if I mighta missed a wiring harness, short of tracing back the wire through the loom, anyone know where the field coil wire ends up? Thanks.

1990 AC coil power

Power is provided to the EATC head unit from F17.

Power from EATC is to the cycling switch on the accumulator (not the condensor, that's in front of the radiator) on the GRN/PPL wire.

If manual A/C control, wiring is the same color codes.

Via closed cycling switch, power is then sent via PNK/BLU wire to IRCM pin 21.

Internal to the IRCM, a solid state relay switches power to the clutch coil under control of the PCM:

Relay "coil" power - IRCM pin 12 BLK-ORG

Relay output to clutch coil IRCM pin 23 BLK-ORG

PCM input to energize relay - IRCM pin RED


As seen, the cycling switch is only part of the control circuit, the rest is in the IRCM and is controlled by the PCM.

make sure that the a/c pressure switch is good.They are a common problem with fords.If it is bad nothing will work.

He already indicated he had it bypassed..
