i just rebuilt the trans but the problem i have is that when it goes from 2nd to 3rd i have to wind the motor to around 4500 rpm or let off the gas for it to shift to 3rd. it shift from 3rd to OD fine and it shifts fine from OD back to 3rd.i can turn the OD switch off on the shifter and it drops down to 2nd . thanks in advance for any advice..

did you do anything to the valve body? What was wrong with the trans before that required the rebuild. Chances are either you need to replace the valve body and that was the culprit that took out the trans before or you missed something when you rebuilt it. Either way that really sucks. I wouldn't drive it till you get it fixed so you don't grenade another one.

Or that shift solenoid is sticky - did you replace those?

possible that part of the spring made it somewhere to plug up a port. If you didn't have a shifting problem before then that would be my best guess. There is something, somewhere, blocking the proper fluid flow. Good luck with it. If nothing else you could just do what I'm doing and ditch the atx. Of course mine will probably be for sale when I get the conversion done...just a thought.
