I'm doin the 96+ brake upgrade and need to know what size pads can be used. I know the 95 pads will work but can I fit pads made for the gen III?
I'm also planning on sending the rotors I bought out to SPmotorsports for the cadium plating in silver and maybe buy some KVR pads. And I still need the caliper brackets.

I figured the 96+ pads would be better since they would be larger but I dunno if they will work.

No the '96 pads are bigger than the '94-95 pads, about 3/8" taller. Don't waste your time running the smaller '94-95 pads in the '96 setup.

'94-95 pads are DOT size D601
'96 pads are DOT size D598

Yea,

I just re-read the "Leigh Smith Brake Survey" on Shotimes and it talks about 94's being somewhat smaller.

So does anyone have any recommendations on pads? I was thinking KVR because I don't think Performance Friction has 96+ pads. The KVR's are pretty dusty from what I have read, anyone know?

9lb_SHO: I'll put a post up in Contacting Shoforum Members section.

Thanks all

well, I guess I never put them side by side. All I know is that when I got my pads, they had the same part for the 95 or the 96. BTW, I run PF pads in my 96 upgrade. They work great. Autozone had them.

the 95 sho pads are the same as the 96+ slo pads. I had them side by side and they are much taller. you cannot run them (from i saw) on the 95 rotors. If your upgrade is to the 96+ sho brakes u are better off paying the extra for the sho pads. The size of the pads is y they brake so well.
