$$ 96 Brake Upgrade

I have a 93 mtx and I need to know the best (cheapest) place to get the upgraded knuckles. Should I trust a junkyard or should I buy new? Where can I buy them new?

One more question. About how hard is the exchange, and how long will it take?

Just buy them from a junkyard. The knuckles cant really go bad, its the bearings and abs sensors that go bad. New bearings should be installed anyways. After you get the knuckles on, everything else just bolts on.

It is possible to bend the knuckles, but it isn't very common. You should be fine with JY knuckles 99% of the time.

'94 Sable w/abs will work, just replace the wheel bearings. About $40 each from the junkyard....

Get the '94 Sable w/abs with the calipers.

1. Replace the bearings as suggested.

2. Use the '94 Sable calipers for core to get a '95 Continental calipers, same items. $30/each for calipers.

3. Buy '95 Conti rotors and pads and caliper brackets.

4. Keep hardware bolts.

5. This is also a good time to replace the cv transaxles, struts, springs and other suspension misc.

It will probably take u about 2 hrs per side to do this.

Make sure before you take them that the holes for the ball joint stud are round and not worn oval. This seems to be very common on the Tauri.
