95mtx turn key no start,weak power/dead.then starts?

this has happend a few times.go to start it,then nothing.not even interior lites turn.sometimes weak power.then i try to start it a few times&it all comes back to life.its so strange.i bought a new ignition switch today (didnt install it) i really think its something else.like main power feed or something.anybody have suggestions?

they are tight.but,i did replace the positive back in december with a cheap temporary one..plus the cable is stretched& very tight.that was on the to do list & now its come back to bite me.tomorrow i'll replace the whole positive lead with a good one & see how it goes.

My old one would get corrosion between the battery terminal and the connector. It would feel tight but have no connection at all.

the other common cause for these symptoms is a short in the starter motor - when its turn the 'wrong' way, it will short, drawing the battery way down and not cranking. if you can get the starter motor to turn just a little, then it will crank normally. this has happened to me several times and a 'new' starter motor was the solution.
