95mtx aftermarket tach wiring?

i have an autometer tach laying around.i wanna wire it up in my sho.i dont know what wires to hook it up to.also i had it in a v8 mustang.am i supposed to cut one of the looped wires on the tach itself? if anyone has installed a monster tach&shift lite on an sho please tell me how.

On my 91, there is a dummy plug that is not used. This is a tach signal. It's on the firewall wiring harness.

You can also tap into one of the DIS pins for a tach signal.
