dmltml did replacing the fuel pump help?
I am having the same problem and would like to know if that helped.

So far replacing the pump (even though it is an airtex) has worked. Let me clarify this, when it is hot, I keep the fuel tank above half. I am sure that the return gas is very hot and with a smaller amount of fuel in the tank, the pump gets ticked. Also, I haven't driven more than an hour in the heat. The car has not broken down since I changed the pump.

Now to another part of the story. I have lost 2 more alternators this summer. Last summer I lost 4-5. I thought I had this fixed after the AC pump took a crap and I had to replace most of the AC system. (air works great by the way.). So It sure seems like my engine in getting too hot and cooking the gas in the fuel rail and melting electronics in the alternator. I am going to hit it with a laser like deeppower suggested.

Anyone else having problems with loosing alternators?

Should the fan on this car run after it is turned off if it is hot? I know some cars do, this one does not.

200-205F is not too hot. coolant at 16 psi will not boil until around 250F, so anything under 230 will not be a problem.

in my experience, a car that is having problems running when its hot out and coolant temps are in the 200s is a symptom of a weak fuel pump.

Just an update. When I looked back at my Maint Records, I noticed the last thing I changed before the problems started was my coolant system. Sensor, Radiator, hoses and an $8 thermostat. So after a bit of denial, I replace the thermostat with a 165 deg and have not had any problem with the overheating fuel pump or burning up of alternators. And now you know the rest of the story....... Good Day
