I just hooked up a after market radio to my 95 sho and everything works just that when u put up the volume thier is static from the speakers. I dont think that it can be from the wiring, and i disconnected the sub in the rear because i thought it drained the power. SO does anyone know how to get ridd of the static. Thank you :oogle:

Yeah...get an amp bypass for the silver amp in the trunk. I can almost guarantee that's where it's coming from.

Yes! Because at this point the stock amps are amping your signal from the headunit. I ran it like that for a while but my headunit had a feature when it dropped the wattage to accomodate the stock amps. There is also a set of plugs (already stock) that bypass the amps completely. I used those when I redid my stereo...

I've had the same issues with an aftermarket HU. Installed the amp by-pass in the trunk, same issues.

It's not a Clarion HU by any chance is it?

well, let's see...what can cause static from an aftermarket CD playeR? two things we've covered; lack of amp bypass and dirty CD laser. Other things are bad ground, crappy CD player, crappy stock speakers, bass/treble turned up waaaay too high for crappy stock speakers and distortion being mistaken for static......

that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.
