This might be a stupid question, but if it's used out of another car have you tried cleaning the sensor? Are you sure that it was a good sensor out of the donor car?

it was a good sensor and yes i cleaned it thats why I'm asking if this sounds like a common prob. with sensors my sho has been sitting for a while i bought a car without the sensor and air box i put one in and the sensor worked good at first but after running for about 15 min. so idk.

Yes, clean the maf. Remove the sensor from the housing and spray the filaments with MAF sensor cleaner. Reinstall and report back (in the correct forum, please)

Edit...you beat my reply...anyway, if you cleaned it...take it out of the housing and inspect the filaments with a maggot frying glass. I'll bet you see a bunch of dirt on the filaments or a broken filament.

agreed i would inspect it and also make sure its the right MAF you never know it might not be a stocker...

also if all that passes check the wiring...
weird you say it runs fine with it unplugged i could never get that with them unplugged, granted it will run but cough and spudder being that when the maf signal is lost it goes stupid rich mode.

hows the rest of the 60k?

What did you use to clean it? Was it MAF cleaner or something else?

This is a very good point. Make sure you remove the sensor from the housing and spray the crap out of it, let it dry, then reinstall.

Love the maggot frying glass. lol. Seriously though, make sure you inspect the sensor closely. Are you running a new or at least clean air filter? If you're not using a good filter it may just be dirt/dust coming through or from filter crapping up the sensor again. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, definitely use MAF sensor cleaner. The suggestion about the magnifying glass is good too. It'll let you see some of the crap on there that you might normally miss. Let us know how you make out.

Also on a side note - Not trying to pick on you or anything, but try to work on the grammar in your posts. Some people will really flame you for that on here. You will find that you will get more help from more people if your posts are easier to read. Like I said, not trying to be a dick. Just trying to help you out.

also be careful to use maf cleaner only because you can **** a maf sensor quicker then you would expect with brake cleaner or something of the like
