Has anybody sucessfully used an ATX console on an MTX car?

I have one of each and I like the extra "cup holder" space that the ATX console offers but I am not sure the hole will work with the shifter.

I also have no problems using some fancy hardware like a button head cap screw to hold the shifter boot in place

Any advice or pictures will be great.

Thanks

yes, when I converted an atx car to mtx, I kept the atx center console including the upper piece where the shifter pokes through. it works just fine, except you will need to rig up a way to connect the shift boot to it since that connection system is different.

I had an ATX top for a while, There were some areas where you could use a short screw to attach the boot. The hole for the shifter is more narrow, so you might hit it in 5th/reverse, but it's not awful.
