Im looking at buying a 95 ATX. It will be my second sho. The guy says that it just started blowing the trans fuse. Something like that. Any ideas what it could be. Apparenty it just started doing it one day.

My manual only shows a 5A fuse for illumination of the trans range selector along with some other interior lighting. That fuse blowing suggests a short somewhere in that circuit.

I talked to him again he said that it doesnt want to shift out of park but he disconnected the cable so you can shift it manually just doesnt shift with the lever. Lucky me i have access to shop key so im gonna try that next. My guess is that the shifter assembly is bad.

What happened on my red 94 is that the brake interlock quit working. simply disconnecting the interlock from the shifter asm solved the problem - any you can now shift it out of park w/o having to put your foot on the brake pedal.

Ok so yesterday it started again. Wouldn't shift out of park so i did some testing. My brake lights wernt working so i went directly too the brake switch. I tested the switch with an ohm meter and its working properly. Checked the fuse and thats good. Then i started doing some testing. Between the fuse and the switch im losing all 12v. So somewhere in there ive got a short. So for the time being i just ran a wire from fuse 5 i believe to the brake light switch. Its just a temp fix so i can move the car. Hopefully ill get it fixed on monday when i have access to all my tools lol.
