93atx trans trouble

when trans is cold all gears work.when trans is warm no drive reverse or low gear.if i start off in second gear and shift it manually i get all high gears and overdrive works fine. any clues????? also does anybody know were transmission oil temp sensor is located? any help would be appreciated thanks.

Very common to have the ATX have problems.

Use search and come back with what you found and your more likely to get a solid response.

need to check line pressure at the transmission when cold then hot, that will steer u in the right direction, i bought a mac tools trans gauge kit for cheap like $60, when i was having atx issues

Any codes? You can read them yourself or take it to Autozone or Advanced Auto and have them read for free.

Did it just happen or has it been slowly developing?

Had codes 452 vss vehicle speed sensor,636 tot trans oil temp sensor,624 electric control circuit,637 trans oil temp signal hi curcuit open!trans rebuilt before I bought car. Still not shifting after rebuilt so it got parked until I bought it. After bought it I adjusted the linkage and had all the gears after 2 weeks trans lost reverse, drive, and low again. Replaced neutral safety switch and didn't help solve problem. Bought speed and trans oil temp sensor but haven't replaced yet. Where does trans oil temp sensor go????
