The 93 SHO I recently purchased will not move in any gear. And the Shifter moves SUPER hard from park through all gears.

Is it a linkage problem or is the tranny dead?

Thanks for any advice.

WOW, I think if I was you I would've posted something before making the buy. Everyone knows the 93 ATX has very weak tranny and I'm pretty sure your trans is gone and be prepared to dish out some money.

Whoa there sparky. If you can diagnose problems that easy over the internet will you tell my why my car keeps running lean?

If the shifter is hard to move I would strongly believe that there is a problem with either the linkage, or the transmission range indicator. Have a look under the intake tubing between the throttle body and the MAF. There is a black baseball diamond shaped sensor with a single plug coming out of it and a rod attached to it. With the vehicle in the on position, but not running, have someone run the shifter through the gears while you are looking at this sensor. If the rod is not moving, you found your problem.

In addition, your brake on/off switch could have failed, thus locking the shifter and you may have applied excessive force on it, but I doubt that. Look at the first solution and lets hear some good news. :)

Thanks. I'll check that sensor and linkage.

I purchased this car for parts to fix my 93 SHO that was slightly hit in the front end...so I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth trying to salvage this tranny or just trash it.

Thanks again.
