Alright here's the story im driving on the interstate with traffic car shifting good then I'm at a stop and about to change lane and I hear a pop noise and I'm not moving foward engine just revving while I'm in the middle of the interstate anyway a hero truck stops traffic and pushes me to the side. Had me and the car towed home I jack it up take tires off and drivers side inner CV axle boot is completly torn. While the car is in park I can turn both axles this is in any gear but car does not move in park if its on the ground. Car won't move in any gear motor just revs up and car rolls if its on a hill in any gear except park.
Is the transmission toast or what y'all think.
Thanks In advance

Put the car on jack stands and put it in gear and look and see if the inner part of the axle turns. May have broken an axle.

if I understood your description correctly, the trans is toast.

with trans in park and wheels in the air, if you rotate one wheel the opposite wheels should rotate in opposite direction. This is normal. If you rotate one wheel and the other one does not rotate, then you have an axle or differential issue. As stated above, if the wheel rotates and the inner axle cv joint does not, then the axle is bad.

Finally had time to jack it and the axle does turn so it looks like the transmission is toast
