I have a 93 ATX W/145K Mi I have driven it like any one how would own a SHO, Not beat but driven hard, and maintained. My trany shifts realy bad omn the 1 2 shift only when HOT. some days when it stays in the 60's and low 70's its fine, when it gets warm/hot and I use the A/C it has problem's shifting from 1 to 2 and if I am in 3rd and kick it down it will act like its in nutral... not good! I have had the car for 5 years, bought it with 65K on it and I have changed trany fluid and filter 3 times since I have owned it due to the BAD REP ATX's have.
Do I need a new trany? or could it be solenoid? Also my O/D switch will NOT work. My O/D works fine and shifts in and out fine but I can not manualy take it out of O/D? is there any connection or 2 seprate problems that a NEW or Rebuilt trany would take care of? And which would be better? Help I like my SHO but I dont like the sounds of $2000 foir a tranny!!!!

Either you didn't cycle the O/D cancel switch during the alloted time of the KOER test, or the switch/circuit is bad.

Can you press the O/D cancel switch while driving and have it respond properly? If so, it was a testing error.

I press the switch and it will not disengage the O/D. What controls the O/d is it a solenoid?

Dave: I have a similar temp problem with the 3-2 down shift. I have a 647 code somtimes. See my series "Replacing VSS". Replacing the VSS did not help. I am going to monitor the solenoids (tranny tester) to see if they are electrically operating correctly during dynamic operation (driving). This will help seperate the problem between mechanical electrical areas. So far I have no signs of slipping or gunk in the pan. I will most likely change out the solenoids before I decide to have the tranny pulled. I will keep the forum aware of my progress.

Interesting.. My O/D will not engage/disengage in any of the drive gears. It works but i have to be in N or R for it to work. The tranny is fine otherwise. The solenoid you talk about. Where is this and is there a way to test it..Thanks
