92' MTX Hard Starting?? Help Please

Hi I have a 92 Sho MTX with 137,000 miles on my car i havent had this car very long, BUt when I first bought the Car it started everyday right on the money. I just recently added a new Exhaust System by Dynomax and seems that ever since then it Starts like a pig??? And when It does Start after I drive it and it is warm when trying to restart warm it is very hard starting also? It does have a Check engine light on. I am going to take it to have the code read for some info into it but was wondering if any ideas you could throw out at me to think about please. It does have a K&N cone Filter that is Installed on this car from a previous owner. Not really sure if this would cause any issues at all? any help would greatly be apreciated. Not sure what the starting problem is, but you could probably save some money by pulling the codes yourself. all you need is a paperclip.

I Pulled The Codes Please help

Ok I was able to pull the codes. And they are as follows a code 214 CID Circut Failure. And a Code 542 Fuel Pump Secondary Circut Failure. If anyone could help with information conating to these Codes i would greatly apreciate it. Thank you very much

I have head that the fuel pump code doesn't mean anything, so you shouldn't need to worry about that. But then again, that may be causing the hard starting. Do you hear the pump hum when you turn the key on? If not that may be the problem. The CID is probably the more likely culprit here, from what I have heard. Check for a water pump leak, which frequently causes a CID failure.

Usual cause for 214 code is the camshaft position sensor. IIRC is on the rear exhaust cam on the passenger side. It identifies where top dead center on cylinder on is on start up.

Thank you for all the information guys. The fuel pump I can hear come on and after trying to start it a while i can smell the fuel. Not to sound dumb but i am trying to learn this vehicle and all the lingo but Jeghead you had some really good information too But what does IIRC mean? Is that the cam shaft position sensor? New code 213?? After replacing the cam postioning sensor

Ok i went a herad and replaced the cam positioning sensor ok. Now it still wont start and I have a new code???? 213 any more help would be great thank you so very much. I can hear the fuel pump come on . Thank you again for your time and help

Ok, thank you again for all your help. Now the code is reading 3 3 1 3 3.

Does anyone have any idea what this means?
