Just cut off the crimp and put on a short section of silicone or rubber hose with a hose clamp.

This. There are no replacement heater hoses sold that have the metal part. Do take care not to saw off the flare at the end of the metal part - the crimp hides it, but it's somewhat important to keeping the replacement hose on.
