a few years back guys were using some MOPAR nylon bushings to replace worn ones in the shifter, details are very foggy on that at best for me. so many of the cable systems were swapped over to a rod shifter that it's mostly a non-issue now.

I guess it depends what is broken. If it's the bushing, I have used a Mopar part that holds the broker bushing in place on the joint so it works like it is supposed to. I have two more of them, unused in the garage.

If a cable is broken, you could replace or try and repair, or youself some good and upgrade to a rod shifter. most of the time you can find one on the forum for around $100-$150. If you go that route, you'll also have to change the mid pipe to make room for it. A few places carry the DynoMax mid-pipe, or you could try and find a good used one off of a rod shifter equipped car.

The $2 Mopar metal clip works fine if the plastic ball socket at the shifter is broken off as it will hold it in its place; if the plastic ball socket is broken of at the trans, a zip tie will hold it in place since it doesn't have any kind of pressure on it. Mine has been held together that way for 6 years, works fine and there is no slop or movement.

Check your inbox; thanks for the comments; I had the intake / surge tanks custom ported/gasket matched by a race shop and they got it powder coated for me; I traded them some parts for it, so don't know what the charge would be.
