Yep, same. Same bearing even used in Windstar, Thunderbird, etc. Only the control arms have different part numbers for SHO, maybe more reinforced, but it's all standard Taurus fitment.
There's some change after Jan 1991, maybe in the hub or the snap ring, but still the same bearing.
If you want to gamble on something not Timken or NSK, Rockauto has a bearing for
under $2.
There's a desirable tool set that I haven't seen as a loaner anywhere, a
DIY bearing press, but it's a lot of extras to purchase when you just need just one size to press out and another size to press the new bearing back in.
Thought of giving the SHOGun the front stopping power of a 1996-1999 SHO? If you have 16" wheels, you also might investigate the 11.6" brake upgrade, using the knuckle and caliper from a 94-95, and the rotor and bracket + pads from a 2001-2007 Taurus.
