It's built into the glass. You either have to replace the quarter window ($800 from Ford or $500 aftermarket) or sand it and fill it (or just paint it).

Have you ever tried to remove a 1st gen 1/4 window? Also, I have never seen a decent on in a junkyard......

I kind figured It would be a problem....the plastic is complete but is pitted like nothing I`ve seen...I didnt think plastic would do that.
But I can use spot puddy to fill and repaint.
Jelloslug,
you have been a big help as of late..
are you the "bodywork guru" of the forum???
thanks

Well, I would not call myself a "bodywork guru"; there are many other here that know much more about bodywork and painting than I. I can also tell you that using spot putty (not bondo) does not work well for filling the roughness on the 1/4 window trim. It will crack out and look like crap in no time. Others have put several layers of trim paint and then sanded between coats. I am going to try some of the 2 part clay like epoxy on my next attempt.

I guess I will try the multiple coats of trim paint first...
It is nice to know that I am not the first with this issue.
the reason I really don't want to do a 2-part is that I am afraid of scratching the surrounding paint or glass...
thanks!
