It is the same design as Ground Control but we put it together ourselves so it really is a SHO Source Kit. We made it to fill the gap. Not everything is name brand.
I do not see Ground Control list any kits for less then $430.

If you let us know where there are errors we will fix them.

I am not sure if we can fix the search function other then adding more key words.

We do our best on the break down. If you need more information let us know and we will update it.

We do not always list name brands due to either being multiple brand, protecting the source or we actually are making it.

Yes they are expensive but they will be the best suspension system you can buy. It is your choice on how you want to spend your money.

I don't mind spending the money, but even with the coil overs wouldn't we need an adjustable strut to be able to use them effectively? Or am I mistaken?

Is the same company making the shock part, and SHO Source making the knuckle sleeve?

For the coilovers they will be making all the parts, we worked out the requirements this time and we will be inspecting them before they ship.

I don't mind spending the money, but even with the coil overs wouldn't we need an adjustable strut to be able to use them effectively? Or am I mistaken?

If you use the basic setup it must be ran with Konis. If you run our full setup it has everything.

Bump.
Would the similarities to Gen 3 allow for seamless installation? I somewhat concur with the mention of the prices in relation to the book value for these cars, but I understand these are solid upgrades to stock suspension, with the adjustability to compression/rebound and ride height. Rebuildable too!

I like the idea of bringing in the TCCA folks, though I think the current price would give a good chuckle to most.

I can probably get Ground Control to make another small run of budget coil overs....

We'd probably have to do 15-20 sets and they'd have to pre sale b4 they'd make them......

I'd be calling in a personal favor but I don't mind,I'd like a set of budget coil overs for my budget 90s Taurus POS :)
What do you plan to mount these with? Ground Controls still require the use of Konis. Zero Konis on the market makes 15-20 sets of coil overs useless. What SHOsource sells is a complete setup.

The SHO Source Kit includes the strut and it is a complete kit. It also gives you the ability to slide the strut up and down in the knuckle for further height adjustment.

My bad, I'm talking about your version of the older Ground Control kit. Is the GC kit different from the version you sell?

Not to pull the rug out from under this thread (as the OP) but I recently bought zak's (John's) front Konis - 1 very used, 1 hardly used, and one new unused. Gonna run the first 2 with Ford springs (RAN code). At this point I honestly don't believe a new batch of the sport SHO Konis will ever be made again. If someone discovers another model that works with the SHO and that can be readily found on the market, awesome. I did plenty of research on various models based on the curb weight of the car they were designed for as well as max/min lengths, and did find one or two that were in the ballpark. But without data from someone who had tested the fit to the SHO, it was just way too cost-prohibitive for me to do myself.

So I think keeping an eye out for listings of used ones for sale is about the only chance anyone's got of getting hands on these things. However, if anyone is interested in making contact with the Koni rep I mentioned earlier, PM me an e-mail address and I will forward you the entire e-mail thread.

Just out of curiosity do you remember what the part numbers you came up with were for struts that were a ballpark fit?

From what I can find here at work (on my Dropbox), The 8641-1071 max/min lengths were almost exactly the same as the SHO; 600/435 vs 598/434 for the SHO. However, this strut was made for the MR2, which is 1000 lbs less than the Gen 3. The closest match in curb weight that I found was the 8641-1342, which was made for the M3. Max/min lengths of 639/474 are a bit longer than the SHOs though. Perhaps they would work with undersized tires and/or untrimmed bump stops. There are other factors that would have to match as well, and I doubt that any will work without some hellacious jerry-rigging. I stopped the search once my grubby hands got ahold of some used ones.

So.... any update on these babies? I just got some Tokico Illumina's on the RX7. When we finally got them tuned right it rides like a dream with the RB Springs.

Our struts are shot on the Turdis so were def need some type of solution other then the coilovers for now.
