I'm trying to install my BBB, P&P runners and 80mm MAF on the car. Well I ran into some trouble...for some odd reason the MAF and adapter are too wide to slide into the airbox...has anyone heard of this because I have not??? I searched the part numbers on top of the sensor online and came up with a gen1 Mark VIII. I can post pictures if need be but at this point I'm stuck...???

I bought the MAF off a fellow, well-known member on this board and do not believe he put the sensor in a diff body. Also the shonut adapter matches up perfectly with the maf body itself. Any help???

the maf adapter is the same width as the maf iteself. From every pic I've seen, the maf I have resembles that of other 93-95 mafs. Did they change up the airbox at all in the last couple months of production??? hahaha I just dont get it as I've been looking at pics of other 80mm installs and theres a lot more room around the maf then mine

the maf adapter that shonut sells is not for stock air boxes. You can search ebay for a v6 mustang maf adapter and modify it to fit the stock box.

I adapted my stock airbox so that the 80mm maf bolted directly to it (requires a little triming of the airbox and narrowing the bottom part of the maf flang). I then went to home depot and use a combo of some 3" plumbing fittings, a furnco and the stock TB tube. Took about an hour.

Modify the adapter how?

Also, if I rotate the sensor from vertical to hoizontal, I can fit it into the box with the adapter that I have. I have read that the orientation does not matter. Is this true?
