Well….oil made its way by the turbo seals. I went to get an alignment and they thought I should go to a different location…interstate and farther away….my gut said decline and take more time with the car but also I didn’t want to be afraid of breaking down and really wanted to believe it must be good now. So bc of my doubts I popped the hood and there was no oil splatter and I thought well shit….i have to try. On the interstate I was going 70…and I didn’t smell any burnt oil and was actually quite enjoying the strange looks I was getting….i was loving it. Then about 10 min into my trip I smell burnt oil..and I say …no don’t. Then I see smoke…light smoke…coming from my fenders and at 70 I might be smoking a lot to see it. I pull over and as I slow down and stop it’s coming out thick. I turn it off. And excessive crankcase pressure again but I can vouch for it seemingly being less of a mess to clean. Maybe it’s better but not good either way. The new thing was the turbos. I think this is scavenger pump related, all of it. Not 100% sure but will be looking for their tech support to help. It’s probably too powerful, it’s all very close proximity…turbos to drain and scavenger pump and return. The turbos came with -4 fittings with oil restrictors but perhaps the restrictors aren’t small enough. I called Matt and he said get it home and use the googles to see where it’s leaking from but he said my turbos aren’t flowing the oil enough or the pump is sucking it so its blowing by the seals. So I decided to have it towed. Don’t need to buy new turbos. Matt said the engine is fine but we need to figure this out so off I go to check now. Just got home. Glad I didn’t put the bumper back on….

I did start it again and moved over to the side of the road more and it started right up…no smoke out of the turbos. I think everything is ok. I even started it up and drove it inside my garage and no smoke. Pretty sure turbos and everything good to go. I’ve been building this baby for about 4 years. I can wait another winter and come out in the spring on top! I’m not pushing the car anymore and I’m not spending all my nights and weekends on it anymore. Time to take a step back and do this right while everything is good.
