your in a catch 22... your car is unique, most of us its an easy and no brainer calculation. with enough people posting times, and configurations, its easy to never touch a dyno and get an approx of reality - like 515hp and 510 torque, but you... so yeah as much as its great be cautious not to lead you astray. Friction is a beeaatch.

Rev56 done. Drove around about 25 min and was letting it shift in drive now that it’s jack to OEM part throttle shift points. It seemed to get better the more I drove it and then stopped and soft launch. Same thing misses the shift 1-2, hits limiter knocks throttle way down which directly effects boost. 2-3 was better. Sent Brad the log.

Baby steps....we are, and by we, I mean you are in some uncharted territory with this build, even for Brad? You've done things to this car / platform far and above most anything out there thus far. Alot of people, bpd1151 to name one, will greatly benefit from this pioneering endeavor of yours. I have a feeling Brad may be easing into this a bit to keep from having major set backs. Could be wrong, but...baby steps.

Jordan’s car is also in uncharted territory. Baby steps for sure I’m just not seeing why we are playing this shift game with 20 psi. Play it with 16 or something is my thought process. Take the bouncing off the limiter down a scale or two. But I don’t know if that would just work better bc it’s less power.

When you start playing outside the factory perimeter all bets are off with ecu nanny. Almost better to go stand alone ecu with tuning but I don't think this is an option with our platform.
Oh no there is. MoTeC. We’re talking 15k ballpark.

Someone tagged me on FB to a major announcement from Unleashed Tuning. Reportedly Unleashed and another tech company completely unlocked the ECU to have all the same access as Ford’s tuners. Tune maps on the fly via cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. Launch control …basically standalone ECU access. Torie may be the next logical step unless again this old strategy is too old. Idk.

I’ve got my finger on the trigger to reach out to these guys but I’m holding off to hear what Brad’s next steps are.

Yesterday I got a phone call from Quintin Bros Performance in South Burlington VT. They have built for SEMA before and have their own in house 2WD dyno. I’ve bought 5 gallon pales of VP M1 from them before. I was invited to join them this September 13-14 at the Champlain Valley Expo hosting NSRA NorthEast Street Rod Nationals.

Left a voicemail if I’m interested to call them back for details. I called back and I’m in. I’m going to need to clean the car up real good like the other show and Thursday the 12th between noon and 4pm drop my car off and get it inside the building to their booth. Leave the car there inside and I can pick it up after the show ends Saturday in the afternoon. Free admission tickets to come and go as I please. Pretty cool invite and honored to have my car displayed under their Shop.

I will stop by and help detail her... maybe you'll leave the fob in the car... never know.

Brad and I are looking into the possibility of spending more time driving the car to get it shifting clean and crisp at part throttle. Possibility of trying a multi gear in manual mode. Also looking into the trans temperature settings as I believe there is a “warm up” strategy that perhaps we aren’t hitting bc the Derale high flow race cooler is working too well 20 min into a drive and perhaps the thermostat is stuck open so it’s below the threshold for optimal performance. I’m seeing temps under 100 but keep in mind my temp sensor is after the cooler. But maybe it’s only 140 or so. Maybe less.

Fresh off the trailer this car always went into limp mode. I actually found and sent Brad a Dragy video of a failed run. First run off the trailer and it refused to shift and bounced off the limiter. So this is NOT a new issue is what I’m thinking.

Changing the temp thresholds I believe is doable on the his end to tell the trans the new temps are “normal” and not “cold”.

Interesting development.....

Me thinks I can't help how that makes a certain other tuning vendor that used to make all sorts of claims of being the 1st (at everything) but now you don't hear much from them anymore.

Not mentioning names of course. LOL.

Right? Who’s their audience? Bolt on cars? Seems like something a race car needs. Brad said there’s so many useless parameters already in SCT he believes claims like that are usually not quite accurate. Maybe an element of snake oil.

We are trying something weird lol. In 2019 the car ripped really well for that tune. In 2020 the initial tuning was slower and on a hunch I flashed the end of season 2019 tune back on the car and it ripped again. So we are about to flash it back to that same tune more or less as a base add back whatever is vital from this new setup. But copying exact transmission settings from it. Should be interesting. I recheck trans fluid level and it was fine. The temp I’m seeing off the cooler is likely 40 degrees cooler than the internal temp. And the trans thermostat is brand new. It actually makes sense my temp is so cool (about 10-15 warmer than the ambient temp) is bc the cooler isn’t being used yet. The thermostat hasn’t reached 160 so it’s not flowing and I’m seeing the ambient + it’s close to the radiator that’s at full temp. Probably over thinking this trans cooler thing. It’s not flowing yet lol.

There are two different trans thermos....

I'd have to look back through (very old) posts and I'm trying to recall from fading memories....

But I can't recall if the difference was between the Non-PP equipped cars, versus the PP equipped cars being the difference, OR if it was the difference between the PP equipped cars and the Police Package variants, but one would open at a lower temp, the other at a higher temp.

I've been out of the proverbial loop for a few years now, but just tossing out some vague recollection.

Maybe someone else can chime in on the subject matter. There was/is for sure a difference, just can't recall which variants.

I think this is your opinion unless Brad wants to go into this realm

I told Brad let’s pump this trans up. I got more money into my brakes. More money into my suspension. I mean, I think I have around 6k in it. But we need to get old fashioned here. The harsh shifts of the Livernois days or ppl who have used Unleashed. They tweaked and pumped up the trans just bc they could….not bc it was needed. I remember requesting Livernois to make it smoother. Literally like someone smacked the dash 1-2 shift. Well that’s what it needs now.

-Increased line pressure
-shortening the time for the clutch to engage(faster solenoid pressure fill)
-minimized clutch slip
-sacrifice smoothness for speed and durability

It’s more direct so it’s not as smooth but it should actually be good for it. Anyway this is my request for Brad to do.
