Back in Michigan ... again.
Was the oil changed before storing it?

Was there any sort of gas treatment used?

8 months of storage really isn't that long of a storage time for a car. An oil change is never a bad idea but if it was changed shortly before going into storage then I wouldn't even worry about it. I'd be more concerned about the condition of the fuel but even that shouldn't be bad after 8 months. My advice...unplug the DIS module so the car won't start and crank it over for about 5-10 seconds. That will get your fuel system primed and it will get oil pumping back through the engine. Then plug the DIS back in and fire it up.

If you filled up the gas tank you did not need to add a fuel stabilizer. Let the engine build up oil pressure by depressing the gas pedal to the floor, this cuts off the injectors. Then when the oil light goes off after sever times cranking let off the gas and it should fire right up.

Thanks for the replies, yes the oil was changed before it was stored, half a tank of gas, no additives. DIS, is that on the P/S Intank?

Yes, it is the gray rectangular module with a wiring harness plugging into each side of it. Unplug each side and then crank the engine for 10-15 seconds or untill your oil light goes out. Then, plug them back in and fire her up.

I am in Santa Clarita, here in SoCal, there are quiet a few guys in the area that might speak up. I have never heard of where you are.....

To be safe, change the oil again. The oil gets viscosity breakdown and the filter can go bad.

Check the tailpipes and engine bay for mice. Found a cantalope-sized ball of shaved yarn complete with raisins in the valley under the intake when I did my service. Apparently the car sat for almost 6 months before I purchased it and I got to deal with people asking "what's that smell?" For a year when I first started my car up.

Oh, and by raisins, I don't mean the edible kind. :vomit:
