I have a few front 60k questions.

My 3.2 in my SHO was put in 14k miles ago, and it was serviced by FPS 30k-40k miles before that. So by my calculations, it has been about 45k-55k miles since that service was done.

The SHO is not running bad by any means, but as stated in a different thread, my cam seals are leaking, these were not replaced b/c of that service that had been done to the engine, nor the front main either, b/c of that FPS service that was done.

In speaking to the previous owner of my SHO yesterday, he stated that he had completed a front 60k on the 3.0, then threw a rod through the pan a few thousand miles after that 60k was completed. He transfered over the crank sensor, cam sensor, timing belt and water pump to this engine, they may have even been purchased at the time of the 3.0 to 3.2 swap, I need to go verify the receipts he gave me, and try to match some dates to pictures.

To explain all of that to get to this, here are my questions,
1. If I reuse the water pump (15k miles old), can I just change all the gaskets, and be fine for another 60k miles?

2. Is it possible for the cam sensor, crank sensor, and timing belt to last another 60k miles before needing to be changed? These all only have about 15k miles on them, maybe a little more than that.

If all of that above can be reused, then all I SHOULD have to get is rod-bearings, front main, and cam seals. Does that sound about right? I am just checking all of this, b/c I know once I go in and replace seals only, I don't want to have something fail SOON after I get done replacing those seals, and it was something that should have been replaced while I was in there. Money is extremely tight, and don't have much to play with right now, basically bills, gas, and food.

I once bought a SHO 3.2 w/ over 200k that I swear had the original timing belt....

Given your financial situation, I would change the cam and crank seals, the rod bearings, and put it back together with the 15k miles water pump and timing belt. If you get the timing belt tight, it should be good for another 60k. (I'm not sure of how many miles are on your timing belt - if its 50k, then spend the $30 to change it too.)

BUT, if there is any sign of leaking on the water pump, change it now!

After digging around, the waterpump, timing belt, Crank sensor, cam sensor are all about maybe 20k-30k old. So, I am going to change the cam seals, front main and rod bearings. Then in another 30k, do a full front 60k.

I have 280k on my SHO and I haven't changed my water pump yet. I bought it with 112k and I think it was done right before I bought it because the crank sensor plug looked new so I'm not even 100% sure if it was replaced, same with the crank sensor. I did the timing belt around 180k or so and I'm assuming that was done before I bought it too but again I'm not 100% sure. I would say just do the bearings, cam seals and front main and you should be all set for a while.

I snapped my timing belt at 120k. They don't last forever on an MTX.

So when is all this going down? I am a little curious... as I feel a phone call coming soon.. :)

If the labor is free, go with your plan.

I don't see any reason to remove the WP to replace the gaskets. If its not leaking, leave it alone.

Whenever I buy the parts. Trying to figure out how I can buy these parts, money is stupid tight right now.

How about I save a phone call, offer free food and drink and you just come on over. Could use a little guidance replacing these things. You don't have to lift a finger, just guide me when I am in a pinch.
