okay i am looking for some feed back on the bbb system.
on a different post i stated a extreme power loss or feeling of one after complete 60 k.
Last night i pulled the front covers off and rechecked the cams and timing belt placement. it looks good but while i was looking at the timing belt i had the end tank with ign module. i looked into the intake and double checked the BBB to make sure they are able to open close etc.
i did not find any thing preventing them from opening/closing.

So are they normally open and when the recieve the signal to the elect switch it allows vacuum thru the close them?

i dont know why ut in my mind i thought the were normally closed and then they were opened at around 4k?

i am, so frustrated about know becouse i did a very thouragh 60 k vacuum hosess ign etc. then i replaced with BBB and acid ported the runners, cand l maf larger injectors , apexi zex kit y pipe and a bunch of other stuff only to make it lose its zip. i mean before it felt fast and now it doesnt. i have removed all the stuff except the oil catch can and returned it to stock except BBB and Ported runners. and its still does not feel fast as before.

the frustration is from obvious tear downs about a hundred it feels like... i have chipped the paint on the valve covers runners etc. so even after i figure out what went wrong i still have to tear it down and repaint it again...

any help ideas etc wiull be greatly appreciated.

your post is rather hard to read, you might want to clean that up a little.
so....you have larger injectors? what are you using to tune that with?

SHOClown,

the butterfly's "fail mode" is open. This means that when there is no vacuum, they are open. Once there is vacuum, they snap shut until 4000 RPM when they make "the sound".

I can not understand what you have installed & what you have removed! -see bold--(see all those red-dot underlined words in your post when you hit the edit button!! Caps, periods & commas also REALLY help us! Please fix those before submitting a response) =(doubleclick on each word & then right click to select the correct spelling-proof read!)
---Please make a list of all non stock items installed & all stock items removed so we can diagnose.

BBB's are awesome... :thumb:
... I think that's what you were wondering.

no I disagree! BBB's alone are an awesome way to DE-Mod your intake! When you remove the horns you no longer pull smooth air from the center of the tank thru the flares, you have shortened the runner length & removed any benefit of the 'pulse'. you are left with a 45mm hole in the tank that has sharp edges feeding into a 40mm BBB then to a 36mm short runner. You have just put up a bunch of walls that only add turbulence & reduces the velocity & volume.

well its official i believe i am truely a dumb a**, While doing the 60 k i also painted my clipers and inner fender wells black and undercoated the plastic cover etc.
I was hoping it would help set off the recent wheel and tire purchase a little better (which it did)
iN the process of painting i had a really hard time removing the fender mounted k&n air filter due to stripped clamp. (i have what i believe is an older style air filter set up,it has a small alluminum plate that bolts where the oem air filter housing does ,then the air filter is a canister type that is actually under the fender well.

so where my advanced brain wirk has come to play is that becouse the clamp was given me problems i elected to leave it and was going to replace it at next air filter cleaning oil change.
so i decided to mask it with a small towell and some masking tape.

geuss what i forgot to take off????
even with all the bolt ons available no air (or low air) means low power and missfire

I agree, but who would do BBB's alone? Don't you know Bill that anything that sounds louder automatically goes faster :p

Dyno's say otherwise. My intake and car along with many others' say otherwise.

I agree that the plenum tubes do bring air smoothly from the center. But, have you ever looked inside an intake with them in. It's not exactly a smooth turn into the plenum tubes. It is literally a 90 degree bend the air has to make.
