New owner of 95 SHO Taurus with 5 speed there is as Loose as I could get to you joint at the end of the long linkage rods is just about ready to fall off. Is there a solution for this issue?

First thing I would check and make sure there is no damage at the threaded boss on the transmission where the shift rods attach. Assuming there is only slop and no damage, I think I remember there were solutions to this posted years ago. You should run a search in the Gen1/2 maintenance section. Hopefully the old info is still archived on here.

Welcome! Mike installed one of these on my car and it tightened up the shifter so much I didn't need replacement rod shifter I had bought.
