Well soon the car will be getting a 4 point roll bar. Im trying to save as much $$$ as I can so my question is, Has anybody purchased the SHOsource 4 point bar kit? It looks like the kit would be about 700$ shipped + 70$/hr to weld it in. I also have been quoted 800$ to have a custom 4 point fabbed and welded in but Im pretty sure that means its not painted. Which I dont mind cause Ill paint it myself. So who has the SHOsource 4 point kit? How does it fit? How long is the install for someone who knows what they are doing?

The kit comes unpainted.
The kit is pretty easy to fit into your car with minimal custom fab.
You need someone that knows how to weld very well to install it.

Our guy would typically take 2-3 hours to install the four point kit.

If your serious about racing or tracking the car, don't paint it, put a clear coat on it to keep it from rusting. If you paint it, you can't nor the tech folks can see if there are problems with the welds. At least this is what I have read.

Cracking on race cars are the reason why you see the majority of prepped cars painted white on the inside... Easy to see cracks.

I'm bumping this thread to get some feedback from the forum. Do I really need a roll bar? Is it a nice investment cause right now I'm looking at a Quaife or a roll bar. I go to the drag strip often and I want to start doing solo autoX and pit it on the road coarse on open track days. Im kind of contemplating not getting a roll bar.

Do you need one? No.

If you were to road course the car regularly, it would be a good idea. Your power levels won't get you into too much trouble on the drag strip and autoX.

I would quaife before roll bar also. If your planning on auto-xin in a certian class, a roll bar might actually put you in a different one.
