So i have a 2011 sho pp, i know i need a 3 bar map sensor for a gearhead 93 tune. The one gearhead sells is $180 but i see some with slightly different part numbers selling for way less.

so my question is does any 3 bar map sensor work or does it have to be the specific gh one or do some work and some don’t?

thanks!

To tune, don’t change the throttle body map or intake map? There’s one kn the pipe and another on top of the intake. I’d assume the intake and not the pipe

When I got my car I thought the 3 bar was installed, and there were another map in my backseat. I never checked and the factory map is installed with a 2.5 bar tune. I’ll swap the 2.0 for the 2.5 and should be good to go. Do you know how important plug gap is? I’d like a tune from gearhead, I just got my water pump done at a shop and I’d assume .030 instead of the .026 gap recommended by gearhead. Thank you for your help

Is your 2.5 bar tune from gearhead? I bought my spark plugs from gearhead so I have no input on the gap.

No it was in there when I got the car. Been rolling around tuned on a factory 2 bar…… I don’t know why the 2.5 bar was taken out and my Ortiz tune says 2.5bar too. I’ll get it sorted.. I plan for gearhead tune, should I just get the 2.5 bar tune because I have it or just buy the 3 bar with the 3 bar tune and be done?

Does any one know what bar the stock map is on the tube before the throttle body? Do I need to change that with a 3 bar? I’m going to running a gear head tune

To answer your questions that haven’t been addressed, you need at least a 2.5 bar to read your increased boost. It doesn’t matter if it’s 2.5 or 3, your tuner just needs to know which. 3 gives you more room than 2.5 obviously but honestly on your 93 tune your intake will never see 43.5 psi of boost pressure.

With said increased boost, yes you should decrease your spark plug gap to .028”.

I’ll pick up 3 bars for both map and tip. I appreciate it! I am learning the way of these cars!

Available on Amazon. If you really want to go the RockAuto route, you can order it, ship it to me, and I'll mail it to you if you'll cover the shipping, which should be like $5.
