Thanks for the laugh.I needed it. The 94 atx only had 73k on it,but the owner selling the car said those light rapping/knocking sounds from the top of the engine were the injectors firing. yeah,right. To make matters worse,seals were leaking all over the front of the block for probably years,and the leaking oil refreshed itself when I wiped the area clean and took the car for a fast spin one exit down the expressway;then back. This,I believe would hamper oil pressure and allow future problems and premature wear.
I understand that the 3.2 should be relatively smooth to the ear while at idle.What I heard was not clicking.

Since daily some of you are good enough to read this post,I wasnt sure about how much clicking and other sounds were acceptable from the top end of the 3.2...opinions will be helpful. All car business halted till I find good gen II car..I just want to be informed.
BTW: a 93 ATX ran well and shifted ok with 83k on the clock.Should a 93 atx be avoided due to the trans problems? Thanks..didnt want to waste extra post-thread on same topic. I'm waiting maybe two more weeks then will have to get another Stang or diff't car.
